Winner of ISPO 2019 Brandnew

Before the Event

Since 2000 ISPO has been searching for and naming the most promising newcomers in the sports industry, and in 2019 ISPO invited diPulse to participate in the prestigious 'Brandnew' competition, the world's largest platform for sports-oriented start-ups. The team was in Taipei, Taiwan, when we got the call — at the time, attending the world-renowned TITAS fair (Taipei Innovative Textile Application Show). With a short deadline to hand in the application, the team locked themself in an Airbnb for 48 hours, equipped with tons of coffee, creativity, and ambition. Cramping together, surviving on peanut butter and raisins, the team eagerly embraced the challenge to create a winning submission. The team worked non-stop until the presentation gave the product justice. On the other side of the globe, Vedran hassled with the transport company to get the working prototype sent to Munich before the deadline, refusing to leave before they shipped the package. We made it and applied at the last minute. The prototype arrived with a slim margin, and the judges accepted our application.

"The diPulse tech wear 2.0 can be revolutionary. It is portable and affordable and the market is huge."

At Ispo 2019 in Munich

At the event in Munich, the ISPO Brandnew jury consisting of industry experts selected diPulse from more than 400 submissions to win the prize in the prestigious 'Wearables' category, highlighting diPulse innovative products and concluding that diPulse genuinely could disrupt the market. While being a start-up, presenting our first fully working prototype, we beat the competition by showing our unique way of integrating electrostimulation (NMES) in functional clothing to promote muscle training and recovery. The price was the first significant milestone that capsulated diPulse success and propelled us into the forefront of the fitness and wellness industry — a cutting-edge concept designed to optimize recovery after activity and make workouts shorter and better.
